Win a cool tiki mug and Appleton Estate VX rum

tiki competition - win a tiki mug and some Appleton Estate rum

It’s tiki time at Bar Zine and while we can’t provide palm trees or hula lessons we can give one lucky reader a tiki mug made by Tiki Farm and three 200ml bottles of Appleton Estate VX Jamaica Rum (we were going to give one 700ml bottle of rum, as shown in the photo, but it’s gone missing and we’re too cheap to hit the liquor shop and buy another one. Hey, tiki times are tough in the Bar Zine trade).

To enter the competition, all you need to do is leave a comment below that says what your favourite bar in Sydney is and why.

The winner will be announced by the end of next week (December 4, 2009) – to find out who the winner is, and to learn about future competitions, reviews and cocktail recipes, subscribe to Bar Zine, which you can do right here (hey, we like to make things convenient for you!)

I just wish Sydney had a full on Tiki Bar like Perth’s Hula Bula. In the meantime, I go to the Eden Bar in the MLC centre for my Rum Based cocktail fix (if I’m not ensconsed in my home bar, the “Rapa Nui Room”)

Nothing but Rum, I have to say that The Village has to be my favourite place to sit and have a Rum Old Fashioned, on the roof overlooking all of Sydney in its glory. If Pirates had a hideaway in the city thats where they would be….

‘Eau De Vie’ in Sydney has to be my pick, you walk of the street, behind closed doors your arrive in a little world of cosy booths and ornate fountains, and just like Dorothy, you’re “not in Sydney anymore”
